Volleyball or barrels? Believe it or not, just about every single sunset time here, there is (most often) the option to do both. Meaning you can run out get shacked, come back in play a round of V-Ball and repeat until that sun melts away into the Pacific. Here’s it’s way too early AND way too hot out to play some Volleyball, but this guy’s definitely reaping the reward of the surf!
3-4, glassy and peaky. It’s no wonder why this place is so well known for its surf destination perfection.
No matter which way you go.
I’ve known Lesther since he was a pretty small little dude, surfing like 8 hours a day (if and when he had a board that wasn’t broken or un-surfable). Watching all the local kids grow up here has been one of the many impressive things to whiteness for the local people here, who’ve learned an activity that’s been passed on from generation to generation the world over. The coolest thing is there’s pretty much only 2 (maaaaybe possibly able to count on one hand alone, 3 generations of surfers that have been surfing in Nicaragua. And no, I’m not counting Miami all my EEUU / Nica amigos! 😉
Eyes are in alignment, so are the shoulders, followed by the hips all the way down to the toes perfectly positioned directly over that center stringer. Good job kid!
It’s always nice to see Rob Machado’s doppelgänger back down in Nicaragua. Jaja
’ll have to repeat the same comment as image numero six. Eyes are in alignment, so are the shoulders, followed by the hips all the way down to the toes perfectly positioned directly over that center stringer. I know it’s old school, but if you really…. I mean REAALLY WANT TO UP YOUR SURFING LEVEL. Ask your parents for an old DVD player, they’re actually really cool (again now, ironically) especially down here because it’s one of the very few little things that will still work when the Wifi is out (which happens a lot) and go load up on as many 90’s surf videos as you can find. AND WATCH, WATCH, WATCH until you can’t stand to watch it anymore (which I think is impossible) and then WATCH your surfing blow through the ROOF!!!!!
And then of course, get out there. The more water time and muscle memory you put in, the better your surfing will be in the end result. If you ever wonder why your surfing isn’t getting any better or it’s stopped growing. . . hit me up for any surfing tips. 😉
And if you think you’re ready for air’s (this kid is) remember to bend your knees, if you want to keep your knees. Just a few daily surf tips from your regular surf photographer who doesn’t really know much about surfing. Jeje!
And the best thing you can ever have, much like my good friends the Paskowitz family or the Moniz families is to have your own personal mini surfing tribe! RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Monday’s surf report from French Fries. The waves were pretty much firing when I rocked up to take pictures, but just like yesterday the wind went side-shore as soon as I put the camera away. At least some surfers caught the magic window.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Happy Tuesday friends! We had an amazing day of nice sizable waves, WITH offshore winds and all there fixin’s for hopefully another one of those “September Sessions” kind of seasons. Jump in and get cyber barreled along with those who were out there today!
Welcome back for another week and your Monday surf report, from your’s truly SBS! Another day of onshore winds… I was getting pretty sad as there wasn’t anyone out surfing the few times I checked it. But if you’re a regular reader here of the Nicaragua Surf Report, you know this place well enough to know..
