Some people say that here in Nicaragua we are a bunch of spoiled surfers, having perfect conditions most of the time… it’s true, how can anybody surf a wave like this?

The lefts at first peak looked like this, of course, NOBODY was out… empty waves all day! (I went several times to check it out).

Sometimes I saw these double waves coming and going all over the place, all messy.

But somehow, suddenly, the messy waves joined together in a perfect synchronization to create a nice, even glazzy, perfect wave.

Probably you could even got barreled on this wave.

The fact that I didn’t find any surfers in the water doesn’t mean that you will not see any surfers riding Nicaraguan waves… I will take you on a history ride through our one-of-a-kind NSR Surf Archives, with daily surf photos since this one was taken, in 2005.

To specify our time travel through the Archives, all the photos that you will see today were taken on September 10th… this one is at Maderas, 2006.

Offshore winds at playa Maderas, Sept. 10th, 2007

September 10th, 2008 was a beautiful day, but the onshore was strong so, Roberto “Lucha Libre” went to explore the surroundings and found this view of San Juan del Sur town. I lived there for 11 years.

In 2009 the offshore was light and the waves at Maderas were fun.

09/10/2010 was really good, great wind, great size, amazing waves!

On this day on 2010, NSR was announcing the Final Event of the National Surf Circuit at Maderas… talking about time traveling, this poster brought me so many memories!

On 2011 Maderas beach looked pretty good, inside and outside of the water.

In 2012 Colorado was pumping, not too big but really good.

Surfers in 2013 were not that lucky on this day, Colorado was small and bien messy.

How about 2014? Perfect barrels all day at Colorado!

Many people changed their phone backgrounds and computer screensavers on September 10th, 2015.

I will say that in 2016 it was a good day too.

2017 was a different story than the 3 previous years… but Oliver “El Mono” Solis had a great session at Colorado.

If by any chance, while you are on a surf trip in Nicaragua and the onshore destroys your session… you might get stoked by visiting the NSR Surf Shop at Hacienda Iguana, and buy a few surf accesories and many NSR souvenirs for you and your family.Looks like the onshore will continue tomorrow but hopefully Wednesday will be firing again. Ahí nos vemos!!
RECENT REPORTS

Hey everyone! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. Welcome to Wednesday evening’s surf report from Colorados. It kind of turned on when I showed up with the camera. The presence of the camera seems to be lucky charm or set magnet haha.
FROM THE ARCHIVES

Happy Sunday everyone! Still howling onshore today, so we had to get creative. Click that next button to see how we do “gettin’ creative” when the surf is no bueno.
