Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, September 14, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday morning’s surf report from Playa Colorado. The size dropped out pretty quick on us, but the morning window was definitely better than mid-day. Apparently sunset was fun again, but I didn’t personally see the waves at that time.

The high-tides have been lower than usual, so even with the smaller waves there were still some barrels if you were patient and selective.

To pull in or to set up for a turn?

This guy took his fin drift to the maximum level. His back foot is pushed all the way to the back of his trackpad.

Carves were the maneuver to target today with the waves being mellower and softer than the past few days.

The best time to get critical today was at the end section of the wave. Slam the end-section shut.

The set waves were still really rippable today, so it wasn’t so bad all things considered. The wind was favorable most of the day too.

Tuck, duck, roll, then drive! This guy had good form pulling through this backside tube.

Fins out! But his head’s over the handlebars. Looks like this rider is enjoying his fresh Channel Islands surfboard.

It was a good run of swell while it lasted! I think the size is going to mellow out for about a week or so. I would expect to see more longboards and fish-shapes out in the lineup. Thanks for checking in and let’s see what Tony Z captures over the next few days.
