PLAYA SANTANA
Welcome to Monday’s Surf Report from Santana beach. It’s been cloudy and with some rain since Saturday but the waves are always here.
This morning we had very light onshore and the waves were soft and kinda mushy which means that there were just a few people in the water trying to find the little gems that appeared every so often.
There was only one surfer at first peak and he was hitting it hard. He didn’t miss any of the good waves that showed up there. It was a long slow left, way different than what we usually see over there.
The usual suspects were out catching waves… the mermaid going on a nice left in the middle of the beach. This girl surfs at least 5 day a week, sometimes even two sessions per day!
But when you talk about girls surfing in Nicaragua, the Resano sisters must be in that conversation, if not, then you should just change the subject.Valentina and Candelaria are in Japan right now as the only surfers representing Nicaragua in the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship. Another regular here at Santana, even though he lives in Las Salinas, is Yamil. He is one of the original local kids at Popoyo.
As you can see in this little sequence, he still rips in all conditions. I remember coming from Managua to surf Popoyo circa 2000 and Yamil was always out there with JJ.

If you were lucky you could see an empty hollow wave almost like a shooting star, as fast as it appeared it disappeared right away, it was more like an illusion.
By around 8:30 am the onshore started to get a little bit stronger making almost everyone to get out of the water right away.
Mike was one of the first ones to paddle in.
Looks like somebody had a good session this morning, celebrating with a kiss and all!

Hello everybody. We are closing September with such a goods pumps. Here is the size off the set waves. There are four doble overhead perfect waves in every set coming every ten minutes. Today I see some of the beautifull waves of this year. Check it out.
