Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, September 27, 2009

What's up folks?  We've got a new long period swell starting to show a little bit today.  Waves are running about chest to head high with inconsistent sets.  The wind was swirling around from offshore to sideshore so it wasn't quite as good as it could've been.  Either way, there were a few fun ones to be had and there were definitely a few barrels.  Here's a shot looking down the beach to the South.

We are going to start things off with a short sequence of our new friend Troy, visiting Nicaragua from Australia.  This guy can really ride a longboard.  Here he is dropping in on a nice little set wave.

I'm telling you, he was throwing his 9'footer around like a shortboard out there today.  Here he is with all his weight on the tale hitting the BRAKES!

This is Troy, Shot 3.  He managed to tuck himself into a nice little barrel on this one.

It definitely seemed like the rights were better than the lefts out there today.  This one lined up perfect to backdoor that little section.  Did I mention how pretty and uncrowded it was today - half the crowd is in this photo!

Every now and then a nice left would come through.  This is Pancho, reaping the fruits of patience and stalling for the barrel section.

We don't know this guy, but he got a nice one too!  You know it really seems like this is going to be a mild October and we've got lots of swell on the way.  If you can swing it, you might consider a surgical strike (be sure to check the wind conditions) to score empty waves and discounted prices on accommodations at the best spots.

Beer paddled out today too and was practicing his backside "Jacksonville Cutbacks".  If you are going to miss the Jaguars game and the NASCAR race, you might as well catch some fun waves.

Hey Beer!  Don't worry, it looks like Tebow is going to be OK afterall!  Stay tuned with us because we have building waves  and good wind conditions in the forecast for at least the next week or so!
