Chris flexing his muscle with his non-stop hustle on this super racy left. Nice pig dog’ing my brother!

Not a whole lotta people out, as the tide was dropping quick and I made it down there when it was medium low and it looked like this.

And this. However, photos can easily persuade the viewer (you) to be mesmerized into believing the waves were all time. But I’m honest and that’s why these are called “Highlights”. Truth be told, it was actually a bit weird and walled up on a lot of the sets and looked to be like a pretty gnar gnar sweeping current with the low tide sucking out causing some funky rips.

But this wasn’t my imagination and I sure as heck can’t photoshop this spitting cobra, nor would need to. I’m simply saying, I give you guys and gals the best of the best of what I see for the 1-2, sometimes 3 hours I’m down there shooting.

Daniel can attest, it was a lot of work out there today… but the rewards were well earned.

Below sea level Santa Barbara “Sand Spit’s” twin took the COVID test and came on down today for the low tide surf show! Jaja

This almost could pass for the reef up the road, but it’s just this huge fat corner that this guy happened to pull a Pancho Sullivan on, like he was at Sunset Beach.

Matty on a super deep and heavy right, that pretty much all were just giant closeouts. Quite the opposite from yesterdays derechos!

D-man chasing this locomotive or in this case today was like the European speed trains.

Almost all things in life start out with good intentions.

But if you’re a surfer, you know it’s always going to be a roll of the dice with mother nature be the dealer at the poker table. Luckily the only folding at this table was dodging this monster that really badly wanted to fold him or his surfboard in half.

There were some really sick and incredibly valiant determined surfers hucking themselves over the ledges and pulling into certain death closeouts out there today, BUT I wanted to throw in this Dane Reynolds looking punt for my last and final parting surf shot….. well, just because it made me think of Dane Reynolds and I really miss watching his sporadic, yet brilliant & always unpredictable surfing.

Bigger, heavy and way gnarlier then you’d expect. But I only know of one person, whom is one of my best buds here who actually surfs it. Maybe we’ll link up and shoot and surf it juntos again one day!

Until that day comes…. Mahalo for your dedicated love for the NSR daily report.
