I was making my way around the compound today, knowing all too well what was headed our way… lots of rain. But man, does the NEW NSR shop look Great or what?!?
I wish everyday could be Taco Tuesday. This is a pretty rad mural my chica amiga Josee St Amour did up for Vana Tacos, back when this place was hopping. Lots of people have fled to find surf, snow, and other fun places to go while this place goes into hibernation-vill. Sure do miss seeing some of my friends faces already. Glad I have this comfort food to keep me company tho!
There a few friends and familia’s still here sticking it out. Seth and Lindsey are still here, but I think everyone’s got a plane ticket out of here sometime before New years.
I was super shocked/impressed to see a small little crew out there surfing today when I made it down to the beach.
This guy may have gotten the wave of the day.
Not to bad considering it looked like a complete mess out there.
You can’t really see it in the pics, but it was raining by this point (lightly) and we’re supposed to be getting a whole lot more mañana!
Beach life for the ones who love it the most has no limitations when it comes to weather, obviously here you can see that Seth and familia love it rain or shine!
Koji has been putting in a lot of time out here… I know this because anytime I come to the beach, he’s pretty much out there, working hard on improving his surfing game. Keep at it little grom!
I saw a dude get barreled today… wasn’t exactly what I thought I’d be saying when I woke up this morning.
Look, it’s a wave eating itself! One of the best lines from the surf flick Style-masters.
It’s a rough ride home in the rain without windshield wipers.
I’m actually already starting to really miss our beloved beautiful waves; so I thought I’d do a little flashback to some prettier times. Here Mac Daddy Sr. Pancho getting drained on one of our juicy May swells.
Ol’ Hotsticks will be reminiscing theses waves soon enough as well. So much for them golden locks and Baywatch tan hermano!
El Capitan John Martin, getting pipeline conditions right in front of his Famous Colorados house.
Remember my chica amiga I was talking about earlier, Josee St Amour, the bada$$ artists/painter? This is her back when we were having so much fun shooting water shots!
Ok, well you know it’s aways so much fun reminiscing. I feel better already just looking through some of the highlights of our 2017 season here. If this rain keeps up, I might have to reminisce some more; but in the meantime, try and stay dry if you’re here locally. If you’re abroad, check back in often. This might be our slow time, but there’s always something going on here in Nica-Land! ¡Nos vemos pronto! ~
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. This lady either ended up a bit later than anticipated or misunderstood what it means to get barreled haha! I’ve got to give her credit for looking at this wave though. You don’t know if you don’t go (or at least look at going).
