Hit the inside right sandbar or the deepwater reef on the outside? The inside was the call.

John is back in town and finding his bearings. I was glad he chose to pull into this thick right.

One of the few lefts of the session. The rights were definitely better than the lefts when he first paddled out at the start of the session. Cracking lips and taking names.

John was quick to pick up the rhythm of the waves and began slashing away on his backhand.

Is it possible to be smooth and sharp? Seems contradictory, but not with Juan John’s surfing.

Combo’s were definitely on the board since the rights are running long on the recently formed sandbar.

Flashing his feathers for the fans. I paddled out afterward and gave him a run for his money after shooting photos.

The whitewater was a little extra powdery today from the debris still in the water. Leaves and little twigs.

The sun was out most of the day today, so hopefully the drier weather persists for at least a few more days. The waves weren’t so bad today though, so we can’t complain. We’ll see what tomorrow brings! Hasta mañana.
RECENT REPORTS

Hello Monday, the winds weren’t offshore as predicted, but we did get some light swirling side shores which helped keep some shape. @tonyzphotos reporting.
FROM THE ARCHIVES

Hey everyone! Josh here behind the lens for the next few days with the start of October’s surf action. I have been watching the extended forecast range like a hawk as I had high hopes for a good to epic finish to the season, like last October, but it looks like the more common outcome..
