Yes, we have had some really unfavorable onshore days (if you follow us regularly, you would already know this) however, as long as I’ve been here, October has also always produced some of the best closing season swells of the year. Clean, not very crowded and Pumping!
JG on a Pig Dog take off always worthy of a slot on my reports any given day!
Well, it’s helps if I’m out there early enough since he’s on this wave any time it’s breaking at the crack of dawn anytime it’s firing, much like today.
Chris lives very close to a surf spot that’s pretty well known and has the name of Pump house. I’m just glad he got a chance to visit “Our” pump house while he was here. When you come back next time hopefully in May, you’ll get to see this wave in real Pump House form.
This could so easily be May, June or July. But nope, its October and the goods are still swinging in from the deep south.
Taylor is a buddy of Chris’s and although today was their last day, I’m sure this view and many other waves they scored together this morning will be on their minds their entire drive back to MGA and their flight back home this evening.
Antonella is regular chica here in the lineup and she’s been carving her way up the totem pole, moving her way closer and closer to making her claim on some really fun tube time here at one of the best barrels in Central America. Get it hermana!!!
Speaking of surfers in the neighborhood who’ve really come a long way with their surfing, John Springfield has grown hugely not inly in his stature but his surfing is ridiculously smooth and has style for days. Sick turn buddy!
Mr. Stylemaster and all around happy of happiest people on the planet. Carlos Perez is back and rocking his best hair style IMHO!
Shane is another one of my new amigos from Florida who sadly had to leave today after a fun run of not only good waves in October, but also scouting out a lot of other (hopefully) possible ventures here in Nica-Land. We definitely need more people like him and Chris and Taylor (and their significant others here). They make life happy and remind of all the good people there are out there in the world.
Los Locales were throwing down some sick turns and making some of the craziest deepest barrels out there today for everyone to watch and see how well this wave can be surfed.
Jeison is one of the princes of this Emerald Coast Jewel. Rightfully so, he wears his responsibilities like a badge of honor. Surfing as about as humble as they come but also lets his surfing do all the talking. With this alone, his surfing wisdom is way beyond his earthling years.
The water was so clear today, from I heard was that you could clearly see the bottom, sand ripples, sea shells and ALL. All I know it Grant is eyeballing that next section after laying down a pretty damn fine line on this one.
What’s exciting to see at this place is people who come and shred it to pieces
and OR get shacked out of their minds. But either way, Justin knows a thing or two about this place.
As a photographer, I’m happy to say we have some of the best local coverage in and out of the water here. Yes, we’re all friends and we even help each other with keeping the photography camaraderie stay united. I’m not sure you can say the same thing for every surf break in the world, but when it comes to the documenting side of things around here, we’re good and we’ve got you covered. Tony Z out in the lineup doing some “Field Work”
Things are looking up for this week and the waves! Wahoooooo!!!!
I’m stoked, I hope you’re stoked! Come on back tomorrow and see if we can have a repeat of today. RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The conditions were very similar to yesterday, possibly a little bigger on the sets.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Good Afternoon, Rainy season is here and with that came some onshore winds.
Hello everybody, this is Parker checking in for Thursday’s “surf report.” If you haven’t already heard, tropical storm Nate hit us hard. However, we are very thankful that no serious damage occurred (heavy local flooding, minor property flooding, downed trees, and other cosmetic stuff). Because today was a crazy day, we don’t have photos to show you…
