Sunny Sunday family beach time is back in the in the mix.
Looked like a good day for some hand-line fishing too.
Danny, not letting these on-shores deter him one bit!
Danny’s son-in-law, Casey Goepel and family are in town and ripping!
There were some wild conditions out there.
Especially some of the take offs.
Spending most of his time surfing in Hawaii, Casey is used to these kinds of winds and how to approach surfing these kinds of waves.
If the surfing still isn’t too ideal for you, you can go collect drift wood. There’s tons of it all up and down the beach. Joan and Olga going Christmas tree hunting in October.
Wedgy, onshore, chunky, sectiony, peaky waves all over the place; just a few words to describe todays unruly surf.
Maycol usually will surf anything… looks like even he’s making it a lay day.
Just by looking at the oncoming section, what do you think Casey’s gonna do with that big fat section…?
If you guessed, big air, you’d be correct.
If you guessed, big wrapping turn, you’s also be correct. These are some of the things that he was throwing down the entire session.
My buddy Alex visiting from Brazil came to play. He’s already scored some offshore diving and caught some beautiful parrot fish. Now he’s ready to tackle these lumpy chunky waves, because one can only play the ukulele for so long before you go a little stir crazy without catching some fun waves.
Casey with his eyes on something big down the line…
BOOOMMMMM!!!! He made these waves look so easy to surf. today Trust me when I say that between the current and constant barrage of duck diving endless wind-chopped waves, he didn’t seem phased at all by these less than ideal conditions.
Perfect shape and form in a sea of complete mess.
Danny nabbed a few. Later I asked him when he came in down the beach, how was that current? He jokingly said, “I’m gonna paddle out and give it another go” which I’m glad he did, because I saw him get a couple more that looked pretty fun, considering the work involved with catching anything out there.
Alex on a pretty nice looking left.
He must have got about 3 or 4 really good turns on this wave. Not bad amigo, not bad at all!
Trees, logs, sticks and debris, along with lots of sand has gone back into the ocean. It might be a little while before our beach goes back to looking pristine and clean again, but hopefully all that sand will help shape up some nice sand bars for when these winds calm back down.
Ok surf friends. I’m so glad we had some people surfing to help showcase how our surf was out there today. Hopefully tomorrow will clean up a little bit more. Thanks for stopping by on your Sunday. Hope you all have a great week. Cheers ~
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. This lady either ended up a bit later than anticipated or misunderstood what it means to get barreled haha! I’ve got to give her credit for looking at this wave though. You don’t know if you don’t go (or at least look at going).
