Mike Doan gets to open up the report today haha! A lump in the wave face got him on this right. It happens to the best of us.

This guy in black definitely crushed the heat today. I think he caught at least five times as many waves as the other surfers in the water. He pulled off a nice lip-slide here.

Then he weaved through the middle part of the wave to generate some speed for a closing maneuver. He carried all of his momentum through this end-section floater.

Tail slide into a layback! These are fun moves to perform, but they are very hard to complete.

The crowd was pretty light today, maybe only 10 surfers. So there were still some nuggets sneaking through without riders.

Excellent body mechanics on display during this backside bottom turn from today’s surf champion.

He even managed to find the only tube of the day on a different left.

Uh oh. Some chandelier spray coming his way.

He was undeterred and managed to tuck in despite the tight space.

He ended up busting out of the corner of the whitewater after the tube closed, then proceeded to thrust some foam out the back. Nice one!

This guy must’ve still been operating on Eastern Standard Time, because it wasn’t quite 12 o’clock yet!

To close out today’s action we have a nice little combo from our main ripper wayyyy down the beach toward the beach club. A good roundhouse to start the ride and maintain his speed through a relatively soft section.

Then a tight and powerful blast to finish the little two footer 🙂

Mike’s dog was having such a good time on the beach and was “smiling”, so I had to capture his good vibe. I concur amigo, we do have it good here! The surf wasn’t quite as enticing as yesterday at the mysto-peak, but it still provided for the more active and alert surfers in the lineup. Tomorrow’s forecast has it being bigger with near identical winds, so if you’ve been liking the action then check back in to see what’s going on in paradise 🙂

FROM THE ARCHIVES

Hola & Happy Hump day you salty surf fans! The weather, or better yet the waves are slowly making their way back to their normal selves again. One morning at a time.

Welcome to the treacherous and wild Tuesday surf report. It was a swell that could have been one for the record books today, but as October is notoriously famous for with it typically bring the rainiest month of the year…we’ve all come to accept, that even the Emerald Coast is not immune to 365 days..
