Real quick before we jump into the fun surf shots I wanted to share with you guys a quick update on how everything has been going with all the help and support. Here are a few words from Heather and how the Book Drive has been coming along…“We have had a really good response for the book drive. I received the first shipment of donations this morning!” The Spanish Book Drive is still underway! One of the many losses for the local community was over 3,000 Spanish children’s library books. This is a devastating loss for everyone, especially for the many kids who would frequent the library after school to check out books or get help with homework. If you would like to help, here is a link to the Amazon wish list that has been created to help refill the shelves or feel free to look for other Spanish books:https://www.amazon.com/…/2XPKWYRGI55…/ref=cm_sw_em_r_d_g__wBPlease email Heather at[email protected]for a US shipping address where Spanish book donations can be delivered.
Also, here are some incredible ground work photos brought in from Carl. He and this dedicated group and many others hiked all the supplies in by foot.
Just a small example of one village getting relief supplies.
So much clean up still needs to be accomplished. But everyone’s getting there. Slowly but surely.
Here they demonstrate how to filter bad dirty water and turn it into good healthy drinking water.
As unfortunate as this natural disaster was, especially for the young children of these small villages; they’re also learning about caring and giving back while also learning about tools that can help them in the future. Look at the astute observation and interest in paying attention to detail. Who knows maybe some of these kids will want to become engineers of water and resource one day?
A wonderful group shot of those effected, people who are helping and everyone in-between. Amazing things happening here in Nica-Land! It’s never too late and everything coming in from any and all donations have been making all of these excursions very possible, so if you can or able to still donate, you can do you by clicking on this link here :https://www.gofundme.com/n2674c-nicaragua-emergency-flood-reliefThank you for allowing me some of your time to show you a little different side of what we have going here!!
So… what was it? Oh yes, some surfing action. Yeah, there were some pretty fun waves out there today.
Low tide maybe wasn’t the best call. Actually I heard it was better a little earlier.
But if this is low tide crap, I’d of loved to see the mid tide GOODS for sure!
I guess cause maybe it got a little drained out. But it was still super rippable.
And there were still some little barrels making an appearance here and there.
I saw a lot of this… SCHRALPING!
Maybe even a couple little sneaker sets to get the heart going.
I actually like when the waves get like this.. some room to work on a little bit of everything. Like Top turns.
Big backside hacks!
Some little drainer barrels.
John about to work on his Judo Air!
No matter the wave type it still always comes down to flare.
and complete commitment to whatever part of the wave you’re trying to annihilate, or in this case dissect!
I’ve said it on here before, but I’ll say it again… its all about that bottom turn!
Gavin Doan has been surfing this wave pretty much his entire grom-hood, and although he’s now pretty much a big grown grom. One thing that he’s always kept consistent with this infamous break, he calls home a lot of the time throughout the year….
He RIPS!!!!
Gotta give a Great Big Welcome Back Shout-Out to THE Amigo! El Jefe, the Chief Marshal extraordinaire and one of my good good friends…. Dan The MAN!!! Welcome home buddy!!
My newly acquainted friends (from CA) whom are also mutual friends with my good friend Muzzy! The Redman’s say Howz it! And thank you for stopping by. I think mañana might be pretty epic! We shall see….!! Until then Chao ~
