Somewhere in Nicaragua
We woke up early this morning and headed to Maderas to check the surf. Unfortunately, when we got there we found sloppy, chest high waves and onshore winds. Not again!
However – in a fortuitous turn of events (did I spell that right?), the wind mysteriously changed and began to blow offshore in the afternoon. This is a good sign! Roberto went down to the Bay of San Juan to document this historic event.
Here is Roque, logging some more time in the water.
There are three big fishing boats that have been washed up for a few weeks now. This guy looks like he’s found a new home…at least during low tide. Good conditions forecast for tomorrow too!

Hey amigos! Welcome to Monday’s surf report from French Fries. The waves were pretty much firing when I rocked up to take pictures, but just like yesterday the wind went side-shore as soon as I put the camera away. At least some surfers caught the magic window.
