We had some playful sized waves coming in and lots of people out enjoying the sunny weather here in Southern Nicaragua in November.
Aaaaalsoooo LOOK what’s back in action.
That’s right! Pili’s is back open and running full force after a whole month off of vacation for everyone who works there.
There were a lot good signs out there today, with places opening back up and also seeing a lot of friendly faces coming to enjoy the surf after a some hiatuses. Good to see my buddy Colin back in the water after he sustained a pretty gnarly rib injury this past season in the big waves.
Speaking of injury, watch your landing on that massive floater hombre! Looks like you’re heading into the sticks!
Another awesome person I saw coming down to play in the surf today was Kimi. Look at that shaka and smile… it says it all right there!
This unknown chica was out there ripping on this mini log.
For a big board like that, she sure looked like she knew what she was doing.
Pretty nice conditions today, wouldn’t you agree??
We still have some remanence of the stormy weather we endured throughout October on the beach. But if you look on the horizon, it all looks clear and open for new great things to come.
I decided to come down to this end of the playa today since it did look pretty fun from where I was shooting up at the reef yesterday. This guys bottom turn made the trek well worth it.
Tony Z was out of commission there for a bit too, so it was really good to see him back out in the lineup as well. Nice turn buddy!
I ran into Dario as he was about to paddle out… he looked kinda hungry though? I think he hungry for waves, but I know why he can burn all that fuel since he and his honey Tatiana are serving up some killer Lasagna at their place Casa Anana’s tonight.
“You go first… NO you go first. Ok let’s just wait until this one passes”. Yeah, the shore pound was still pretty gnarly today with that super lunar high tide.
Kimi getting a few down at the far bar this afternoon. Go Kimi!!!
Another unknown surfer getting in on some of the Sunday Fun Day action out there today.
Kiki paddled out with her amiga Kimi, and I could tell by the looks on their faces, they were pretty stoked to back in the water! Might be better tomorrow on the mid/low tide. Those fat high tide waves were a little tricky to get into.
Little inside peeler goes by unclaimed. Any takers???
Koji was out of course.
and so was his bother Yoji. I can imagine how stoked Yoji is on his new little shred stick.
Dario with a nice little cutback. Now I know you’e gotta be fired up for some Lasagna.. you’ve been surfing for a while there amigo!
Do you end that last wave of your session with a closeout floater, or a Drop Your Wallet Larry lay back? Decisions, decisions.
Alrighty mis amigos. That is how we polish off one fine weekend of surfing! You all ready for a new week? I hope whatever it is you’re doing or have planned it’s going to be a good one. Don’t forget, if you ever need to see plenty of fun waves, just cruise on by here. Tomorrow should have some goodies for you from up in Baldo’s neck of the woods, and from what I understand, it’s been pretty fun up that way as well. So stay tuned and we’ll see ya soon…!! Hasta pronto ~
