Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, November 09, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, welcome to Thursday's surf report from Santana beach. The waves were still small this morning but there were showing some size on the sets.

Javier Baldovinos

This is a wave from one of the sets, what do you think, a little bit bigger or not? At least they still have a good shape.

Javier Baldovinos

On some waves the peak was wide so you could only take off on the shoulders

Javier Baldovinos

There were only 6 surfers in the water which meant that a lot of the waves went unridden.

Javier Baldovinos

With the high tides the estuary has been getting filled with water, attracting a great variety of birds looking to eat and swim on it.

Javier Baldovinos

This guy was the best surfer out there, throwing little sprays of water here and there, getting ready for the swell that comes in tomorrow.

Javier Baldovinos

Another guy that was warming up for probably the last big swell of the season. I bet he is imagining he is inside a big cave of water right there.

Javier Baldovinos

The fishermen went fishing early this morning and now they are putting the boat to save before the big waves arrive tomorrow.

Javier Baldovinos

One lonely fisherman trying to get some lunch off the rocks... in the next few days it will probably be dangerous to be standing right where he is now.

Javier Baldovinos

Safety first... remember always that we are in the tropics, the sun is really hot and if you don't apply enough sun screen you won't be able to surf as much as you were planning to do it.

Is that the Outer Reef on the back??

Javier Baldovinos

If the forecast is right, the Outer Reef might work in the next couple of days, maybe not as epic as everyone wants it but enough to catch some "little" ones.

Javier Baldovinos

In the mean time we can just practice and streach the muscles to (hoepfully) be ready for bigger waves.

Javier Baldovinos

Stay tune, tomorrow is going to be fun! Hasta maƱana!
