The rivers are flowing strong, so the water went from clear to brown overnight. The wind wasn’t horrible at mid-day when I took photos, but the lineup and beach were a mess.
Inside or outside? Lefts dominated the southern end of the beach.
Now to the best (in my opinion) part of today’s report. The emergence of a new peak that I have dubbed “Cyclops”.
The combination of high-tide, storm-surge, and river flow against the ocean created a mutant wave in the center of the river mouth.
If someone had a shrink-ray, they could’ve packed some serious slabs out there.
Cyclops wasn’t the only new arrival. Looks like we have our very own “Nessy” now! Loch Ness meets Nicaragua.
Beware… Nessy was guarding the peak. Cyclops was definitely rideable on a foamie. The river flow was steady and strong, so it would’ve been a lot paddling though.
Kaboom! Don’t fade the extra thickness in the water from the rivers opening up. The debris and silt magnify the power of the waves.
Remote control surfers only at our miniature Chopes re-creation.
There were some dark caverns at Cyclops. Who knows what’s lurking deep behind the curtain? Maybe “Captain Mouse”? XD
Messy beach and sea. Stay dry and rest up amigos! For those here in Nica make preparations for being stuck at home for sometime until this weather system and rain passes. For those prospective visitors abroad, it might be worthwhile to hold off until the 21st – 23rd to dodge this weather pattern. Surfline is calling for another big Chompipe swell (like last year) so we’ll keep our eyes on the forecasts!
