Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, November 15, 2008

Thanks everyone for joining us for the Saturday surf report.  Today the waves were perfect to take some surf lesson.  The surf was running about waist to chest high on sets, with offshore winds all day and the water was super nice.   We had two nice people that decided to take some surf lesson with NSR Surf School.  From right to left we have Scott Lyttle and Becky Woolley from USA,  as you can see in this picture they are ready to take their best surf class of their life.

In the next shot we got our instructor Oliver “El Monito” Solis teaching them the essential steps to take good control of the board in the water and ride some fun ones.

Here we have a nice shot of Becky Woolley taking off on one of the many good waves she got today.  Becky was enjoying the surf day with her friend and she was taking plenty of good waves.

Here we caught her friend Scott Lyttle getting a nice and super clean wave all the way in.  These guys had a really good time on the beach.  This is Scott enjoying this wave and saying hi to all his friends.  It was a pleasure to teach you guys how to surf, we hope we can do it again.  Nice meeting you.

Today we had fishing tournament where more than 50 pangas made it out to have fun and try to get some fish to get a prize.  This contest started from 6:00 in the morning to 3:00 pm in the afternoon.  This year we couldn’t take the Dirty Sanchez out but we still have a couple of boats who wanted to represent the NSR crew.

The fishing this year wasn’t that good but there were still a few fish to be catch. The big surprise of this contest is that our friends from The Va Pue and Surfari Charters couldn't pull out a win this year. They had a couple of Dorados that were close, but not quite enough get a prize.  Any way, this time the local fisherman crushed the fish and took home all the killer prizes from the tournament.  It's hard not to be stoked for them. Check out this guy holding a 54 pounds rooster fish to win this category.

On the last shot of the day we have Codo’s father posing to keep a good memory.  He was competing in the contest but he didn’t get any fish this year.  Anyway we think he was the luckiest man of the day because he hooked a mermaid.  Alright folks, please check back tomorrow.

This is just in, this is a shot from one of our favorites spot up north that our very own “Pancho Sanchez” checked out during this weekend.  He was down here in Nicaragua for a week but now he has to come back to the USA and take care of his family.  The waves were not very good but definitely there were a couple of fun ones to be had.  Here we have a shot of Carlitos riding a fun looking left.
