As I got closer to the beach there were some sets coming through and just a few people in the water trying to catch them.
I was visiting clients at Rancho Santana earlier and now I’m on my way out to the beach from the Club House. This lady here makes sure that no one can get in from the beach, only guests so, we don’t recommend you to even try it.
But if you are staying in one of our NSR properties in Rancho Santana you won’t have any problem coming in and out to the beach, and also you will have access to many amenities, like playing horseshoe while checking the waves until they get at their prime to paddle out.
While walking around the pool at the Club House something call my attention, something was moving inside this big plant… I had to get closer to find out what was going on.
It was this “little” iguana looking for food and sun. These guys are mainly herbivorous, but more specifically, they are folivores (an animal that feeds on leaves). In the wild, they feed almost entirely on the leaves of trees and vines, plus some fruits or flowers… and the landscaping around the pool it’s the perfect spot to find food, and sun of course!
The waves were around chest high and a little bit messy but there were plenty of good waves to pick from.
For a lot of people the conditions are not worth it to get wet so they have to find ways to kill the time while waiting for the conditions to get better. Fishing off the reef it’s a great way to spend the day, especially if you bring something for dinner.
For others, the conditions are still good enough to paddle out. It’s all about being patient until you find that little peak that will put a smile on your face.
Or until you find a little corner steep enough to throw a nice turn on it.
A storm was coming from the east, the sky was getting darker and you could hear the thunders rumbling on the back.
I went down onto the beach to have a better look at the waves, and for sure it was a better angle!
Mike was one of the few people catching waves today, it’s rare not to see him in the water every day.
Even though the waves were messy, with patient and a little bit of luck you could find the jackpot just like this guy.
A small, dirty barrel is still a barrel!
Here he is coming out of the barrel right before the wave clamped on him. Well done!
This guy was putting a great show out there. Throwing big hacks on every wave, combining maneuvers and linking sections like nothing.
Check out the double curtain on one of his turns. Great control with a lot of power.
Looks like tomorrow the wind will be better, come back to check it out! Hasta mañana!
