I met up with a really nice couple visiting from Brazil to go up north today by boat to try and score some waves up that way. Léo and his girlfriend Bruna, making the quick little paddle out the boat early this morning.

There are a lot of really cool sights to see heading up the coast by boat. This is one of the many things to see.

Once we arrived to our destination where we wanted to surf and shoot, it was time to wax up and jump in. Lucky for us there wasn’t another boat in site.

Jumping in wasn’t the easy part, the winds were really howling out there today! Watch your board when you launch off the boat bruna!! haha

This is probably one of the only times its ok to party wave…. of course you’re sharing a wave with your significant other.

I think Léo got the better part of that wave.

and he continued on down the line, practically all the way to the beach.

Not a bad first wave hermano! I wonder what he’s scoping out the back??

Ahhh – like I said those winds were pretty treacherous out there today. Getting in to some of the waves were a but tricky. Come on Bruna, two more stokes and you would have had that thing!!

It’s a pretty neat feeling to see this place back to being like a ghost town. I used to come up to this spot many years ago, before there were any other boats and the surf shack definitely wasn’t there either. Just a surf spot in the middle of nowhere with a really cool looking jungle for a back drop.

This was probably the biggest set of the day. No-one expected it, so we were all in too far and missed it, unfortunately.

Bruna snagging one, taking off practically under the lip.

Making a good bottom turn coming off that nice drop in…

Wrapping it up with a sweet little carve… Nice one hermanita!!

It may be small out there today, but the inside section was still on the lower tide and the rocks were just below the surface. (see slide 22 later for more details!) Gotta watch your head, shins, and fins!

Léo was a bit wave hungry this morning, and rightfully so. This is their last full day, so they wanted to make the best of the what little swell we had left today.

That grin is not just from the waves from today, but the many good barrels he also got earlier in the trip. All in all, this has been a good first trip for them to Nicaragua.

Just you and your best mate out surfing all together, alone. Doesn’t get much better than that!

Ok, it can get a bit better! The winds were up and there definitely was some Love in the air!

Yewwww – good times you two!! Stoked we got to link up before you leave.

Ahhh, the good old Nica surf tattoo. You can’t go home without one! Remember what I was saying a little earlier about watching out for them rocks on the inside. We all agreed a little lime juice is the best remedy. OUCH!! Good thing they’re both Doctors.

As always, the boat ride back home is always fun seeing all the sights from the water view. Back in our neck of the woods, Villa Iguana’s always looks so inviting. We rent out quite a few of these condos here, so if you like what you see, please feel free to get in touch about renting one on your next trip down. It’s a super chill relaxing place to come with surf buddies or your family. Shoot us a message here:www.surfnsr.com/nicaragua-vacation-rentalsif you’re interested in staying, the prices are some of the best in this area!!

Paddling in after a fun day out on the ocean. Time for some lunch and maybe even a siesta!

Well that’s it for today my friends! Thanks for following us around on our little journey. We had fun and I hope you all had fun living vicariously through my lens today. Enjoy the rest of the Saturday and I hope to see ya back here again for tomorrows report to finish out this super fun weekend! Cheers! ~
