There is a saying in Spanish: “Al que madruga, Dios le ayuda”, basically it says that God will help the person that wakes up early… the English version would be “The early bird get the Worm”.
In this case, the good thing about waking up early to go surfing is that there is way less crowd in the morning that in the afternoon.
Another good thing about waking up early in the morning is that the light is really cool for taking photos. The offshore wind, the clouds, the warming sensation of the sun and the shadows that creates is just beautiful!
The best 4X4 you will find around… so many times I got pulled out of rivers, sand, muddy roads (if you could called them roads back then) just around the Popoyo area… now a days you can go almost everywhere without the need of a 4X4 vehicle.
I know I sound like a scratched record but, what else can I say… it was small and fun! Of course, we all prefer more size but it is what it is.
There was some really nice little waves that, probably with two more feet it would have been a nice barrel.
LIVE… and let surf!
The size doesn’t matter when you are prepare for it, especially if you combine it with some good style.
This guy brought the right equipment for the conditions, he was catching all the waves with his pink foamy board.
While some take advantage of the morning lights to go for a run on the beach…
