I wanted to start todays report off with reporting how the Playa de Colorados was looking and I know it might be sad for most, including myself, but thankfully it’s only a temporary thing. Kind of a fun little right going off down there tho, right?!?!! 🙂
This is the angle and completely different wave that we’re all going to have to get on board with now for the next few months..
The good thing is that there is pretty much swell, or waves, here at the “Drops” from now until March or into April or whenever all the other surf spots come back to life.
December and perfect waves… yup Nica-Land is one of those rare gems of surf destinations on the planet that provides almost year round.
Scott, dusting off the ol’ longboard and giving his normally hard hitting shortboard quiver a little break. Ooops, (spoiler alert) and sorry for the use of that particular word Señor Scott! Keep reading to the very end, and you will see exactly what I am referring to.
As most of all you dedicated surf report readers know how shreddable and surf friendly this wave is. It’s not your typical barreling wave, however, I’ve seen my fair share of experienced Panga surfers find the gems and rare coverups, when they’re happening.
Todays morning session crowd count…. Cinco!!!
To air, or not to air. Ahhhh, I imagine the coldest of cold places right now where maybe some airlines are actually grounded due to extreme snow and non-Nica type weather. Ahhhhhh, you all now how GOOOOD it feels to surf in boardies or a bikini!
Here’s about the smallest of the waves to be seen during this mornings epically lit and strong offshore session. But perfect for long boarding, fishes, any kind of retro board, and if you fancy yourself some serious ripping, surfing here on your standard thruster (aka shortboard) IF, you can paddle in, the rest is like surfing a skatepark.
Ohhhh, well I did forget to mention Foiling, another newly more popular type of board riding here as this wave is perfect for it. Especially with the short interval today. Grey riding on what looks to be a new foil, maybe his new “Regalo” (present in Spanish) he got from Ol’ Saint Nick.
This unknown dama taking a pretty sweet looking right, and that LB looks super nice too! Hey let me know if you need to store it here when you go back home…. (hint hint… jeje) 😉
There were actually quite a few ladies out there today. I think by 2022, the guy/girl ration might finally hit the 50/50 mark, or maybe surpass the dudes all together hahahaha!
See…. I wasn’t kidding!
Asher, doing OR better, showing how to surf this wave on your standard thruster or like I said earlier, shortboard.
This wave can be pretty sectiony, but Asher knows how to deal with this two faced wave!
Ahhhhh – gotta leave todays Sunday Funday with one heck of a sick shot of one our local legends…. Mr Carlos de (usually would be) Colorados, but for now, we’ll give him the seasonal new location name of Carlos de Panga Drops! Jajajaja Yeah hermano rippppping!!!!
And that’s how you break it off with your relationship with your favorite other wave and the end of one crazy year! Sorry about your tabla Scott! Local all around good guy Jason (aka super team lifeguard) and Señor Scott, saying adiós por hoy ~Remember, even if you didn’t make the highlights you can always look at the link here for all theDaily Surf Shotsfrom each day, there might be a good chance you’re in there!AND don’t forget to follow us and always check out our current happenings on our daily Instagram stories hereNSRor my photography hereNica Surf Shots
