Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, December 28, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, this is Baldo reporting from Santana beach. The Christmas swell has dropped making everybody to spend more time on the sand than in the water.

Javier Baldovinos

But of course Mike was out trying to catch some of those empty little waves, which, with patience you could find a nice ride.

Javier Baldovinos

Plenty of empty waves rolled lonely all the way to the sand. Poor little waves, nobody around to play with them.

Javier Baldovinos

Little by little surfers started showing up after seeing the empty lineup and the ncie little peelers coming through.

Javier Baldovinos

The beach started to fill with families and people doing exercises while waves like that one appeared every so often on the sets.

Javier Baldovinos

The water is not that cold to wear a full wetsuit yet (in my humble opinion), but I guess some people have more body fat (me) than others, resisting the cold temperature better. This guy was ripping the waves, throwing buckets on every turn.

I think this is Chris from the Campo Brewery… after all the beer he must drink every day he is probably very warm inside.

Javier Baldovinos

Mike was doing he thing too… look at the spray on this one!

Javier Baldovinos

Looks like Mike felt great today with his surfing so he started giving some tips to Candido before going out… he doesn’t seem too impress with the tips.

Javier Baldovinos

Here is Chris with a nice bottom turn trying to impress the kids.

Javier Baldovinos

The wetsuit guy was even trying some airs. I saw him going above the wave a few times but he couldn’t landed any. Keep trying buddy!

Javier Baldovinos

According to the forecast the waves will remain 2-3 feet (maybe smaller) for the next week, not much fun for us and probably not for all of you either but, this is surfing and as we all know, we all just go with the flow… and when there is no flow (or a tiny flow) we just drink beers. CHEERSSS!
