Welcome back to another fun afternoon report and surf session. A lot of people out enjoying the sunset and gearing up for the next big holiday…. NEW YEAR’S EVE! Waves always working at the reef, makes for an always better surf report. Come on in and check it out!
This is the surf lesson main zone on our stretch of beach. You can see that the waves were actually pretty decent size, at least for that little army of surf beginners.
The real deal surfing though was going on way out the back as I was watching people getting 100 + yard rides all the way into the beach.
Looking back over to check in on the newbies…. I’ve gotta say, we have some pretty talented and great surf coaches if you ever come down this way and wanna give surfing a shot. It’s probably one of the most memorable experiences you’ll do while you’re here, its that fun!
See… this was just one of the many clusters of people who were out enjoying the beach life this late afternoon…. looks like they all spot something interesting.
YUP!! That’s Panga Drops for you… if you’ve ever surfed it, it can definitely get in your head, or in this guys case, he’s got his head in PD’s… haha – all kidding aside, this wave really is and or can be a mind trip. You will most times find yourself chasing the mysterious peaks that lure you to the spot that looked epic and totally going off but once you paddle over to that spot, it’ll start breaking just exactly where you were sitting waiting for half and hour for a wave to come directly to you. The moral of the story is, you have to paddle…. paddle, paddle and paddle some more. You’ve gotta keep moving around out there. This wave will never “just” come to you!

Now that’s a fun looking little wave. And mind you, take a look where that guy is sitting and he’s thinking one’s going to come right to him. Well, he’s in for a wait (or surprise). Paddle over there DUDE!!!!

Howdy surf fans! Pretty fun waves up at the reef today. I couldn’t make it down until the afternoon session, but I heard it was pretty fun in the late morning from a few friends. Either way, it looks like both sides of the low tide got pretty fun today. Check it out!
