I didn't get the camera focus right, but Gray Gardner got the best barrel I saw this morning.

I knew from the moment I saw this wave stack up that it was going to epic! I just couldn't see who was going to get it.

He completely disappeared for a second or two. This wave was very similar to one I caught about a week or 10 days ago.

Although the surf wasn't huge, the perfect light offshore breeze helped even the insiders hollow out.

This boogey-boarder knew what he was doing. He is on a bricked out foam cube and still managed to set his rail better than some of the surfers in the water this morning. Respect.

This is up there on the list of worst things you can do in the lineup. Show up as a visitor (on a boogeyboard), and blatantly burn a surfer in a better position. Super bad look and further validates people who have negative stigmas of boogeyboarders. Nono is a good surfer who would've got drained. I hope he gave this guy an earful and he either went to a different peak or got out of the water. The rules are very simple everyone! If you are at the shoulder, you gotta wait! It's really that simple! Shoulder hopping at hollow waves is very bad for multiple reasons.

Imagine having to burn people to get waves. #notthereal A real surfer finds his own waves and doesn't need to resort to poor behavior to get waves.

Setting your inside rail early is a necessity to getting barreled at Colorados. Dropping low is a bad move most of the time. Missing time in the tube!

Bang! It was rippable all day over the complete tide range. The extra punch in the waves made it perfect for practicing sharp snaps and vertical turns.

Well today was probably the last of the power until Monday afternoon or Tuesday. But then the swell returns with a vengeance. It looks July could end up being the best month of the year. Time to slam the GO button.
