Somewhere in Nicaragua
Hola mis amigos! Welcome to todays surf report. We have some new swell in the water. Could potentially still be building and with the steep tides, it was all about timing out there today. Let’s jump right in and check it out!
This is about as big I saw it today, maybe a couple others that snuck through that were a tad bigger, but don’t forget that we’re in December folks. This is like an early Christmas present for us!
Overhead surf this time of year it’s like, Christmas and your Birthday all wrapped up into one.
Dario was stoked to be paddling out when he saw I was shooting. I think now he’s inspired to go work on his carve, barrel and air game to see results if I catch him in the right moment for analysis later, like here on the report.
I’m sure seeing this before you paddle out helps a lot too, for inspiration!
D-man didn’t waste too much time either, here he is trying out his barrel game.

Local ripper, Oscar Espinoza knows all about low and tight compression in the legs on the bottom turns…
which helps in making this happen perfectly.
Today wasn’t exactly perfect out there, but it sure wasn’t bad to look at either.

There were some nice empty ones coming in up at the reef. Not takers I guess??
By the looks of it, I think PK had a pretty good last session today before having to depart his beloved Nicaragua.
For all the ones I saw today going rashie-less, I have to say, I think we’ll see the true diehards come out soon as the water is starting to get a little chili from the strong winds we’re getting already.
This is more like it. I think in a about a month, we might start to see some people wearing 2mm full suits. Just a hunch??
