Somewhere in Nicaragua
Hola chicos Happy Friday! We had some big fat chunky surf out there around midday. Winds were still onshore, but it was actually pretty clean for onshore. However the current was pretty relentless. Take a look!
I got a call from my buddy Derek who said he was just about to paddle out. That meant I needed to scramble and get my gear and jam on down there!
That’s because when he says he’s going out, it means two things. It’s probably the best time for the waves, since he checks it pretty regularly though out the day and two, I know if he’s out surfing; I’m almost guaranteed he’ll give me some stellar surfing that I can use for the report.
It’s really hard to see Derek here, but he’s there, way down there, in the trough of this macker.

The surf looked quite a bit different that how these photos turned out. Just look at Haydens face…. should I stay or should I go now???
Well, I think we know the answer to that after seeing his first wave of his after paddling out.
Also, I repeat…. the photos make it look WAYYY more fun and a heck of a lot easier than it really was.
Just ask Mr. Chris. He came down and hung out with my while we watched the show!
