PLAYA COLORADO
TGIF!! Hello world and welcome back for another beautiful day of surf and wonderful weather here on the Emerald Coast of Nicaragua. The swell is just starting to fill in a bit and with the longer period there are some nice sets coming through but with nice waits between sets. Guessing it is only going to be getting better throughout the weekend. Check out a taste of today’s action coming off of the high tide for the brunch surf session.
When I got down to the bech to shoot there were only 3-4 people out but the surfers were gradually showing up as the tide was dropping off of it’s high at 9am.
Gradually growing into the shoulder to head high size that is so fun to surf here, big enough to feel like you’re on a real wave but not so big that you’re stressing on the paddle out or dreaded wipeout.

Jon was one of the handful of guys out there when I first started shooting and eventually the lineup was getting filled in, I’d say by the time I left there were about 15-20 people out surfing.. still a very light crowd on a very fun wave.
Jeison came walking down the beach as I was shooting, you may have noticed him on the opening shot pointing out to the spot he was gonna go attack.. and it didn’t take long for him to start putting on a show.
Grabbing one of the waves of the session he pulled into this guy that was more of a grower then a show-er as it just jacked up and gave him a really nice tube. It looked like maybe it was gonna clamp down at the end on him but he came flying out. Sick wave bro!!
Looks to be getting better and better throughout the day and weekend so get your board ready and lather on that sunscreen it’s gonna be good! Super stoked I could bring you a glimpse of the brunch session this morning. Hope you get a chance to get out there and enjoy some surf as well.
