POPOYO
Hello NSR followers from around the world, welcome to Thursday’s surf report. Today I decided to go check out our other wave magnet of the area, the famous Popoyo, check it out!
Popoyo is consistent as Panga Drops, there are always good waves here, breaking to the left as well as to the right.
With this conditions, 2-3 feet max, the right at Popoyo is great for beginners too.
You just have to be careful with the spontaneous party waves that once in a while appear here.
Even though the rights are usually fat and slow, if you ride it long enough you can finish the wave with a good vertical maneuver.
Now-a-days, there are surfers that prefer staying on the far north, surfing the left that comes out from that shallow reef… it looks fun!

Our old friend, one of the original NSR photographers, the famous Jairo “Come Pan” Ramos (@jairo_ramos_photo) is visiting us and of course, he went out yesterday to take some photos at Panga Drops, check out some of his photos from the water.
With years of experience taking photos for the Surf Report for over 4 years, Jairo developed a great eye for surfing photos.
He captures the perfection of a great powerful maneuver on one shot.
Also all the details of a good aerial.

Howdy everyone! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves surprised to the upside today. It was slightly larger than I was expecting, and there were hour plus long windows where the wind dropped out.
Hola amigos! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The tide was a bit lower by the time I got around to shooting today, so there was more action at mid-peak than the side-peaks. The wind was stronger today, but it was a little bigger today too.
