I noticed in the last few days that the winds died down a little bit in the afternoon, which right now it’s perfect because it goes well with the tide to surf Colorado.
The only issue is that they are big tides right now, high high tides, and low low tides (is it just me or that doesn’t sound right?, right?).
Between the wind and the big tides, there’s just a small window to catch good waves.
But when you catch a good one, I bet you feel like you’re walking on water, just glading, without the need of a surfboard.
During that small window of not so windy, there is always a chance of getting blasted by a gust of wind during a ride.
It feels great when, in between gusts of wind, when everything is calm, you are the one creating a nice chaos.
Every January feels like every January is the windiest of all Januarys, World Record of Windiness, the worst January ever… but for sure it’s always the same, windy as hell, dusty, tree branches falling, tree trunks breaking, and the worst… hard to surf!
I said hard to surf, but not impossible! You can ask John, he’s always out there no matter the conditions.
Let’s see what tomorrow bring us, it might be less windy but we’ll see. Hasta mañana!
RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Thursday evening’s surf report from Colorados. It was a bit of a “stand-up contest” this evening, but the power should return tomorrow. Still surfable, but we are suffering from the recency bias haha.
Hey amigos! Josh here for the next few days. Welcome to April 1st’s surf report from Colorados. The surf was on its dying breaths today, but there were still a few good sets and pulses sprinkled throughout the day. The mid-day window had insane sun, so there were very few surfers out.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Happy Tuesday everybody! Brian here reporting from sunny southern Nicaragua with some fun but really windy waves on tap for today.
