I went earlier to Panga Drops but there was nobody out so I came to Popoyo because is the other only spot that works with this size and at this tide.
There was some fun ones at Bahia Sardinas, a.k.a. beginner’s bay, where is very well protected from the wind.
I found Etienne with his daughter Elisa going tandem on these little waves. Next time I want to see Elisa on her own, ok?
Then I went to check out Popoyo… it was low tide and all the rocks on the inside were exposed but that didn’t stop Uri to go for a few little rides.
The waves were decent but the problem was the strong offshore/sideshore that made it hard to catch the waves.
At the least on the lefts you were going with the wind so it was a smoother ride.
That’s what I call a MASSIVE Spray! 🙂
This kid was catching a lot more waves than the rest, and he was ripping!
And talking about ripping… look at the Resano sisters, Popoyo locals, Valentina and Candelaria, getting ready for the Pipeline Women Pro in Hawaii!!These two are amazing!
Just to give you an idea how good they are, here is Candelaria (13 years young) at Waimea Bay… Insane!
Here is where the Resano started, right at Popoyo… it’s all about a lot of practice and determination, right?
Hopefully the wind calms down a bit tomorrow so we can have cleaner waves and better sessions. Hasta mañana!
RECENT REPORTS
Howdy folks! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The wind was supposed to be ripping hard today, but it was actually very light this morning. The only downside was that the tide was low at that time.
Hey everyone! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Pangas, specifically French Fries right. The wind was ripping pretty hard around mid-day, but it mellowed out slightly in the evening and the direction improved some. It was golden hour!
Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. This lady either ended up a bit later than anticipated or misunderstood what it means to get barreled haha! I’ve got to give her credit for looking at this wave though. You don’t know if you don’t go (or at least look at going).
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Happy Tuesday everybody! Brian here with the surf report. Although it’s been a while since this has occurred, we had a friendly reminder of what we usually take granted in the first world problems and that is that we had no power or internet since about 1:30pm today. Some might think it’s no biggie, but..
