Welcome to your Tuesday surf report/action from Sunny Southern Nicaragua. Where days like this, even in January can be one of your best get-a-ways from the bulkier peak season crowds and more expensive prices. Check it out!
Luckily Grant doesn’t have to worry too much about flight costs, since he already lives here. Although it looks like he may have dropped a few cordobas on that sick turn.
Today actually was one of the funnest days I’ve seen out there in all of 2020, so far. So rippable and peaks lining up all over the lineup.
I’m not going to say what time it was though…. you’ll have to figure that out for yourselves! 🙂

Here’s Steve Magliano not giving up on his pop up on that super late take off and he ended up cruising down the line on this thing all the way to beach. Yaaaa Steve-O!!!
R. Kelly must have been to Nicaragua at least once. I mean how else could he have been inspired by his 1998 Grammy award winning song???
OK, you know I’m kidding, but on a more serious note though… did I mention how sick it was today in Nica-Land?
I’m not an oceanographer, or bathymetry expert or anything, but I do know wave shapes because I look at them every single day.
My best guesstimation as to why the waves have been so peaky and fun in from all the sand blowing in from all the strong offshores creating these amazing sandbars all over the reef.
From the outside mini-bombers all the way to the inside race track, like here. With the right tide and perfectly sized swell today, it was pure magic for about an hour.
Yeah chica… ROCK ON!!! That would be a great way to describe todays conditions.
Of course it ALWAYS helps when the surfing talent out there are great performers too!
Today alone I almost quadrupled what I would normally shoot on average for a surf report day in photos. The shredding was that fun looking!
Just might have to make it a double shooting day…

Well, this is how it looked right before I had to pack it up for the session. Still some super fun nugs coming through and plenty of rippers still out having a blast! Hey everyone, welcome to another week of waves from Nicaragua. The waves are small today and the wind is blowing!
Hey guys! Kevin here with the surf report today. Not my normal day, but we out here getting some good karma so its all good! In any case, today was a pretty strange day in terms of swell, but there were some windows for good surf. Check it out!
