If you like warm (but not too hot) weather and fun sized waves, this is the season to be in Nicaragua. Wave size is usually between waist and head high until around April. This is Gerardo “El Mope” doing his thing on a nice Left.
Maderas was firing on all cylinders today – both the lefts and the rights were peeling across the sandy beach. Here’s an unknown “Pale Rider” grabbing a nice one.
Before we forget, we have a message to post for Brent Woods – Brent, please call home, your mother emailed us today and is worried about you. Hey Mom, if you check NSR, don’t worry – we saw Brent on his Boogie Board today and he is OK (sorry, we usually don’t post photos of Boogie Boarders unless they do something really cool). Here’s a photo of some longboarders sharing a nice wave.
Later on in the afternoon, Jairo caught a sick photo of Ashley on this nice right. Ashley is busy preparing for the upcoming competitive season here in Nicaragua.
I wouldn’t call the beach busy today, but there was definitely a “fun” vibe going around. These young ladies have been down here checking out all the good surfing going on. Here they are discussing a backside 360 that “Really Young Rex La Bestia Calderon” pulled off earlier.
Even Pancho paddled out and caught a few on the longboard. This is him, obviously just coming out of a 3 second tube. (previous sequence was mysteriously lost)
“CHULIN!”, I still don’t know what it means, but that’s what we call him.
Carlos Caliente was hotter than ever on the longboard today. I’m pretty sure he’s got the big toe hanging off on this one.
Alright folks, that’s it for today. We’ve got a fun little swell forecast for the next couple of days so stay with us. We’re going to find some good waves to surf! Pancho out.
RECENT REPORTS
Merry Christmas everyone! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. This evening’s surf report is coming your way from Panga Drops. Today definitely had its moments, but the windows were difficult to hit.
