Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, February 10, 2017

Bienvenidos to a fresh edition of NSR's daily surf report!  It is the windiest day I have ever spent on the beach in Nicaragua!  No joke, I think it might have been dangerous to surf this morning, solely due to the intense offshore wind!

I have to be honest here, don't let my pictures fool you too much... Not one surfer out this morning and although this wave looks pretty, the ocean was not feeling muy traquilo today.

I went up to check what the reef was looking like and once again, nobody was out, and for good reason. If this wind lifted your board up in front of you, I think it could be very peligroso to your body! Still a beautiful scene on the beach and it's kind of fun to witness. I wonder what it would be like to drive a golfball into this wind?!

Ok folks, since we don't have much surf action today, let's talk a 'scroll' back in time here for the rest of this report. Here we'll start, on this same date last year, Parker captured some fresh cuties, heading in for their first oceanic experience! Good luck, hope you're still out there swimming buddies!

Let's go a little farther back, to this date, in 2012. What off-season?! Five years ago today, Lucha captured this shot at the Pitaya surf contest in Hermosa beach.

Going back in time a little farther, same date back in 2009. Can you recognize where that is? I'm surprised that the river was flowing this time of year! Must have been not so dry then...

We'll move back now a couple more years, to 2007, same day as today. A young Rex Calderon at his homebreak, Maderas, and riding a Tom Eberly!

Ok, this one wasn't taken on the same day, somehow I came across this shot though, from September of 2008! It's funny, I thought that facial hair style was older than that! Hey boss' am I allowed to do this! haha.... Left to right we had Jairo, Carlos, Dlite, Pancho, and, Lucha.

Now going way, way back! March of 2005, the first month of NSR's daily surf report. NSR's godfather, Pancho Sanchez pictured here (or is that D-Lite?), took a ride with Roque to an unknown spot... Can you still remeber that barrel compadre? We're going to end our report here today everyone. This is Eric, thanks for tuning in and taking a look at the waves today, and many days ago. Have great a Friday amigos!
