Before we get to our surf report for the day we are posting the following announcement from San Juan del Sur local, aerial expert and staple NSR presence Augusto "La Gaviota" Chamorro.
My name is Jose Augusto Chamorro Lopez, I am 26 years old and I live in the beautiful village of San Juan del Sur, NIcaragua. I have been surfing for 9 years. In this time I have represented Nicaragua in international competitions all over Central America and I have been runner up in the National standings for 3 consecutive years. Surfing is an important part of my life - it is my pass time, my discipline, and my sport. I love the ocean and beach, it is one of the many riches my beautiful country offers. I am focused on raising my level of surfing, competing against the best in the region, and continuing to represent my country. Right now, I am making the push to get to the next ALAS event in Santa Teresa Costa Rica. Getting to and competing in these events are costly. I am respectfully asking for financial support in my effort to keep my dream alive. Any assistance you feel you can offer would be appreciated.
NSR will be providing Augusto with some financial assistance for this trip as is Barrio Cafe. But we also wanted to provide our audience with the chance to help Augusto out as well. If you are interested in participating you can email us at [email protected].
