With almost 2 miles of beach to choose from and two defined breaks with where to shoot from can keep that guessing game level high as you check it out patiently throughout the day. From a distance it looks like Colorados might have been a good contender for the final sunset showdown.

But my instinct, the help of a handful of some great friends whom all opted for the reef, definitely helped me seal the deal on where to shoot for todays Sunday surf report.

Derek was one of them, and he paddle out with a quickness as the window looked to be pretty good. That and the sunlight was quickly fading…. so we had to make a decision pretty fast! D taking this right (which had some pretty nice size actually) and milking this thing for eventing it had.

Here’s a perfect example of what those crossed up lines and undefined and really heard to predict where to sit exactly spots looked like pretty much all day long today.

Then again, so you see a set and moments like this where you just scratch your head and think the complete opposite and would or could believe today was super epic and just another typical dreamlike day in Nica-Land.

But you can still see how those side shore winds were really affecting those wave faces today.

It’s weird, but our side offshore winds can almost be like most peoples dreadful onshore winds. But I’ll still take anything the ocean and or winds throw this way over any other place on the planet if choosing a permanent place to live.

Thad….. Thad is ALWAYS Glad! And I don’t think there is actually anything in this world that could ever bring him down with his always bigger than life super positive attitude and incredible personality. #ThadIsRad I think that should be a bumper sticker! jaja

When you go through what it takes to get to a place like this AND you know that this week is looking to be pretty darn good as far as the swell is concerned. Surfing days like this is like drilling your 9-5 Mon-Friday knowing at the end of the work week, all that chaos to get to one of your favorite surfing destinations is about to pay off with pretty much any surf spot you would like to surf all to yourselves…. well let’s just say, you’d be pretty stoked too!

Using the the term, Living the dream and it being used while here, is and should be BE USED loosely. It’s because if you did live here, you would know how incredibly lucky you actually are to be living here right now!

Another weekend complete, another Sunday in the books, a new week a head, and a HUGE Latin American culture holiday bout to go down. This week’s going to be pretty amazing! Stay tuned ~

FROM THE ARCHIVES

Remember when you were so happy it was Saturday because you wouldn’t have to wake up early and go in to work.. now that’s all anybody wants to be able to do. It’s true what they say “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.”

What’s up NSR fans? Ready to see some good size waves here in Nicaragua? Well, today started to show more size and this morning was really good.

Hola estudiantes de la vida! Today we had some pretty fun surf out front and with that came a couple of teachers of the craft and some students learning thus said craft. Put away your iPhones (unless you’re browsing this surf report on there) sit back and take a few notes from todays class session.
