Things definitely started off a little slow today, as the waves were pretty inconsistent, but the swell was increasing all day long.
This would be a nice example of one of the in-betweeners.
Even though I checked the waves periodically thought out the day, I had this feeling it would be best towards the later part of the day; especially because this swell is building.
Unfortunately for timing purposes, that meant I would be risking shooting right near our super high tide. Hence, check out this backwash.
Or this backwash.
Although, the high tide wasn’t slowing this dude down by any means.
There were some pretty good sized lumps and bumps coming in at outer Panga’s as well.
After looking back at the sandbars, I was thinking it might be time to go visit the reef with all this water.
By then it was the best lighting time to shoot anyhow…. Golden Hour!!¡Mi favorito!
We’ve had some pretty good surfers out there this past weekend and into this week already.
Looking forward to seeing what these guys do with this nice new swell the next couple of days.
Evening glass off anyone??
Ok, I was kidding, it didn’t really glass off. But the swell was still coming in pretty nicely.
I’m all for handstand on the tops of closeouts…. 100%!!!
I’m eager to see how much bigger this will look tomorrow morning, how about you?
There’s a saying around here that’s actually an acronym… something about showing up and blowing up.
That’s exactly what these arial artists did tonight!
Ok ladies and gents, this is my report for the day of the new swell. Stay tuned for tomorrow as we have a surprise feature guest reporter and I’m sure he’ll be locking in some super sick shots in the AM, so be sure to check back mañana! Chao for now ~
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. The swell was very big as forecasted, but it didn’t really hit the sandbars appropriately. Still some big drops and adrenaline rushes.
Hey everyone! Welcome to Thursday evening’s surf report from Colorados. It was a bit of a “stand-up contest” this evening, but the power should return tomorrow. Still surfable, but we are suffering from the recency bias haha.
Hey amigos! Josh here for the next few days. Welcome to April 1st’s surf report from Colorados. The surf was on its dying breaths today, but there were still a few good sets and pulses sprinkled throughout the day. The mid-day window had insane sun, so there were very few surfers out.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
It´s Monday!!! Here at Santana beach every day feels like a Sunday, but we get excited on Mondays because we know most of you are checking the surf from your offices and we want to make you feel like you’re here too!
