Today is one of those rare days in Southern Nicaragua with onshore winds. I think we’ve had around 4 days total throughout these first 5 months of the year. Not bad, right?

As spoiled as we are, it’s hard to find surfers out in the waves with these conditions, I was lucky enough to find one though.

The big rain opened the river mouth at Colorado which will help soon to set up the sand bars for the surf season.

Check out the banks that created, more than a meter high! All that sand is under the waves and will work its magic pretty soon.

The waves were messy but with luck and patience you could find a nice ride.

Tony Z was the lone surfer that didn’t care about the conditions… a good surfer should be able to surf on any conditions.

As a kid, and even as an adult, it’s impossible to see a new sand bank like this and not try to break it, it’s mesmerizing.

How about a few jumps to see how far (or how hard) you land?

The kids couldn’t resist the conditions (they are not spoiled yet) and brought their boogie boards to have some fun.

It turns out it’s a good place to practice late drops!

Those late drops on the sand will help a lot once they get out at Colorado.

The current was a little bit strong but they still had a great time.

After a long waiting and a couple of waves, Tony Z caught the last one of the morning… probably with plans of coming back in the afternoon.

We’ll have to come back later to check it out, maybe the onshore die down a bit at sunset and the conditions might improve some. We’ll see! Have a great day everyone!
