Tony Zacharek

The calm before the storm, Thursday morning was a little bit jumbled and high tide. But performance levels were up. @tonyzphotos reporting.

There we're many takers out early, but there were a few. Watching the weather maps we could see the rain and onshore wind coming up early. Thankfully Zack was one of those people and always provides some good material.

Zack looked to be on a fishy style board which allowed him to skate through the flatter sections and do some nice wrapping turns like here.

Tony Zacharek

You can see him getting low and powering through the hump waiting for the wave to bowl up on the inside.

Sterling was the first to brave the morning conditions and opted for a bit more foam. You can see him catching the rollin into this one.

Hot dog!!! Sterling unleashes into a foam hit/ floater combo.

Zack looking to answer back getting some air off the backwash bounce. i though he was riding his single fin when walking down the beach, but can see his on the twinnie.

Laying back into another cutback.

And with a nice looking off the top on his backhand. Winds are forecasted to be strong onshore at first light for the morning. Let's hope that changes. See you in the morning.
