PLAYA SANTANA
Hello everyone! The NSR team wishes you a Happy Monday! This is Baldo reporting from this beautiful Nicaragua surf destination known as playa Santana.
And when it comes to enjoying surfing there is no better example than “good vibe” Gil… , big or small, he is always smiling and having fun in and out of the water.
Fast, powerful turns combine with a great array of aerials makes Rex be part of the tiny group of surfers that have represented Nicaragua in many international surf competitions.
The waves were small but the water was glassy and clear, and the shape was great. Such a beauty (and shame) to see an empty wave break all the way to the sand.
Another Sanjuaneño that came today was Bryan Estrella… the upcoming star following Rex’s steps, attacking the lip with determination, power and control.
Small waves? Small barrels. Estrella managed to find room under the lip for a small tube ride demonstration.
And that’s exactly what I did after taking photos for the report… I had to go to Colorado to give a surf lesson to one of our NSR clients.Big thanks to Hotsticks for the photos!
Once I told him (and showed him) what to do and how to do it, and guide him on safety, waves and technique, it took him a few waves to be able to stand up and ride waves all the way to the beach. Way to go Jess! Now you need to reserve your next trip back to Nicaragua as soon as possible to keep practicing!

Wow! A surprise gift for us surfers here in Iguana this Thursday. I was expecting the surf to be small, but this morning it looked really fun.

Hello everybody!!!!. We start having some decent waves rolling during the high tide. The waves is not too consistent, but there are good waves in three peaks working in the beach break. Check the sunday surf.
Hello welcome everybody. This is the first day of the new swell. The waves are coming constantly. All morning was more or less, but now there are some sets super fun. Check it out.
Super fun waves this morning but the lineup was a little busy. Chest to shoulder high waves on the bigger sets, nice offshore winds and great water temperature. Check out the lineup!!!
