High tide was coming up really quick so the waves were a little bit bouncy.

Check out the water! It was so blue and clear, really cool!

Bryan was one of the few surfers out at this time of the day. He was going for the barrels on the big ones.

But as you may already know, Colorado is a fast wave and you just need to pick the right one.

And you need to try and keep trying until you find the right wave for you.

Now let Bryan show you the right way to get barreled at Colorado… *disclaimer: following this steps won’t warranty you getting barreled.

Depending on the wave, you need to drop in kinda straight to wait for lip to curve and then you do a strong bottom turn to reach the face of the wave.

Then you put the breaks to stay close to the breaking part.

Then find your line and stick to it until the barrel covers you.

Or until you fall.

And then you try again. Here comes Bryan on a nice bomb.

Nice looking wave, and Brian’s position is right on the spot.

Full cover!

He totally disappeared for a moment.

Sadly, he disappeared completely.

Just a little bit North the backwash was doing some serious damages to the waves.

Felipe from Brazil was also surfing today.

He was not catching too many waves so he got excited too soon on this one, and the backwash made him lose his balance.

And lost control of the board and the wave did the rest.

Right after Felipe’s wave, Bryan went for another one, check him out.

Finding his line and focusing on the way out.

Locked in!

Passing through that little section.

Fully covered.

And coming out like nothing just happened. Nicely done Bryan!

Here is Maria reenacting the barrels she saw from the beach.

Right after Bryan’s barrel the tide got too high so I decided to take a break and wait for the tide to drop a little to check out another spot.

Around 4 hours later I went to check this other spot and look who I found… Bryan again, this time going for these long lefts.

Gray was the other surfer sharing the session with Bryan.

Damn goofy-footers and Nicaragua’s perfect lefts.

That’s it for today, come back tomorrow because it’s going to be even bigger! Don’t miss it!
