The new swell started to show some energy today. Here at Colorado the waves were around head high but it wasn’t barreling as usual because of the big tides we are having right now.

The little ones were not that fast giving enough room to hit the lip without hesitation.

My friend Iván from Managua came to the coast for the weekend to hopefully catch some of the swell tomorrow.

This next week is going to be really good, we are expecting two (maybe three) times this size and hopefully this good.

The local surfers are more than ready for the new swell.

They are taking the time to practice the big turns while they can, because once the big waves show up it’s all about the tube-riding skills.

Also, time for some airs here and there.

Some of the sets that came were big and good but not barreling properly yet.

My brother Joaquin came also from Managua for the weekend. This is his first appearing on the surf report so give him a round of applause please. Eso Joaquin!

I was wrong when I said there were no barrels today… this bodysurfer was killing it on the tube-riding show, and he was catching every barrel on camera.

If you haven’t noticed it, the last few days have been very windy… I’m happy to see that somebody found a good way to play with it.

Another one that is making his debut on the surf report is my cousin Julian and his awesome style!

After the high tide, I took my visitors to my neighborhood Santana for a second session.

Of course at Santana we found super fun waves and just a few people in the water.

Let me introduce you to Los Gordos Surf Team, presented by “plenty-of-good-food” and sponsored by “not-enough-surfing”.

AS soon as Lenin saw Los Gordos Surf Teampaddling out, he marked his territory with a full on round-house.

He came with a lot of speed for this one.

And finishing it with style and control.

Santana was super fun, with good rights.

And mostly good lefts, like the ones we see at First Peak.

My other cousin Camilo appreciates you checking today’s surf report. Have a great Sunday everyone!
RECENT REPORTS

Happy Sunday Funday, We had another great day of surf. We went of campus to the fun wedge around the corner. @tonyzphotos reporting.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. The waves were even better today than yesterday. The morning was definitely the window, but the afternoon was rippable too with the higher tide.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. Surfline ended up being way off today. Today was supposed to be the bottom of the swell, but the sets were just as big today as they were on Wednesday, the peak of the last swell. I think it was the long-interval new swell filling in..
FROM THE ARCHIVES

Welcome friends to the TGIF surf report. We had some small, occasional medium sized fun playful waves, with some rainy weather earlier in the day and patchy sunny skies in the afternoon.
