Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, August 17, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday morning’s surf report from Colordados. The swell started to fill in some this evening, but it was surprisingly even smaller this morning than yesterday morning. I guess this morning was the bottom of the swell.

Josh S

We’ll start today’s report with the barrel of the morning from the bodyboarder featured in the past few days’ reports.

Josh S

This barrel shaped up close to perfectly for him, so he just had to pull into it and through it.

Josh S

Mouth open = mind blown! He must be enjoying the view.

Josh S

Here comes the second section. He can’t afford to make any mistakes here!

Josh S

Oh he’s getting a little low in there! He’s gotta keep his rail and body clear of where that lip is landing at the bottom of the wave.

Josh S

Alrighty, he’s out and sneaking through the doggy-door! He’s not home-free yet though.

Josh S

Sweet victory! The smile on his face says it all. Nice barrel dude.

Josh S

There were long lulls between the sets. So most of the surfers opted to stay busier and work on maneuvers. This guy opened this right with a stylish floater.

Josh S

At the end section he “let it rip” through the lip and shot some sand + spray out the back.

Josh S

Our MVP barrel rider wasn’t merely going for tubes, he sent the rollo on this heavy end-section.

Josh S

A different bodyboard gliding through another picture perfect tube. It was their day to shine today!

Josh S

High and tight is the line to take when it’s small and hollow! Oh well, he gave it a look.

Josh S

Mike Doan karate kicking the top off this left. Standard form for Mike ripping and tearing the waves apart.

Josh S

Ok amigos! That’s all I’ve got for Saturday. Hopefully we get a few more waves like this tomorrow morning. Tony Z returns to the report so we’ll see what action he captures.
