For all the Florida surfers reading this… be safe! Irma looks like a total b!tch! You should all take the next flight out of Florida and take refuge here in Nicaragua, the waves are in the small range but the water is calm, glassy and fun.
Even though it is small, it still have room (and push!) to do some maneuvers, you can ask Candido Quedo here about how much fun he had today.
Another good person to ask about today’s conditions is Mikaela, she surfs Santana whenever she is not giving amazing massages to sored, tired surfers in the area.
While on the beach, I met Sarah (and her tiger) from Saint Augustine, Florida. She’s been in Nicaragua for 10 days already but, because of Hurricane Irma, she and her boyfriend will have to stay for another 6-10 days. Not a bad place to get stranded, right?
Here is Sarah’s boyfriend, Alex, looking worried about what he will be doing the next few days while waiting for the storm to pass through the Caribbean and Florida.
Sarah was saying that a couple of years ago she lost her house during another hurricane and she just don’t want to go through all that again. Hopefully not!
But while we wait for the hurricane to hit, there is not much to do but to take advantage of the clean conditions and surf as much as we can, because it will probably get onshore and messy in the next few days, but with waves, always waves!
It was high tide and the waves were “panzonas”, so I only saw this “barrel” today… if we can call it a barrel.
Who cares that the waves are small when they still have great shape up and down the beach.
Check out this guy’s spray, not a bad one for a small day here at Santana beach.
No matter the size, Santana always offers a great session, lots of speed, big tubes, big turns, and big floaters.
I guess Alex was not that happy with the waves today… Hey buddy, you should be enjoying the water and be thankful that you are here in Nicaragua and not in Florida!
Maybe this news from the NSR Surf Shop will make you feel better Alex… Check it out!**End of the season $100 board sale. Time to cycle out old rental boards to make way for new ones! Come get it while it’s hot!**
That’s it for today folks. Stay safe if you are near one of the hurricanes’ paths, it definitely doesn’t look like fun. Cheers!

Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. This lady either ended up a bit later than anticipated or misunderstood what it means to get barreled haha! I’ve got to give her credit for looking at this wave though. You don’t know if you don’t go (or at least look at going).
