Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, September 27, 2010

Pancho here, checking in from Latitude Zero.  Really, I'm staying right on the equator, which also happens to be the name of the resort.  It's a nice place - I just got here today.  I had to take a boat instead of flying (mechanical problems on the plane...don't want to chance that here).  It's a 16 hour trip.  This is me on the upper deck.  That little island over my right shoulder is where I'm staying for the next week.  It's ok to be jealous.

I surfed today but don't have any photos to show for it.  Roberto, donde estas amigo?  It's small right now, but still fun.  The water is crystal clear and there are no other surfers in sight.  I forgot how beautiful it was over here.  It's been 10 years since my last trip.  Everywhere you look, it's a postcard.  This is the corner of our little island.  Perfect.  (and there's a great wave just around the other side)

This is a close-up of our little island (complete with gourmet chef and internet access).  The swell forecast is small for the next several days so I'm going to try take some diving photos or something.  Next week, we're getting some waves.  That's all for today.  I'm toasted from the sun and am headed to sleep.  Later.

What's up folks?  We are Lucha and Miguel throwing a couple shots in.  The winds were howling onshore, raining pretty much all day long again but there were still some fun ones to be ride at the bay.  Check out how dark the bay looks, that's why all the rain has made in the last days.  Check it out!!!

The ocean was pretty nasty but the bay is kinda protected, just think about how rough the other open beaches might be.  This is Augusto "La Gaviota" Chamorro finding a nice section to do a sweet floater.

There were a few clean and fun nuggets rollin in.  This local kid got to score some of he better ones.  Getting ready to destroy that ramp coming at to him!

A few kids found some really good sections to practice a couple aerial moves.  This is El Boquitas going big with this frontside.

Even the few international surfers we have around were trying to get some fun ones at the bay.  Here are these two guys just a few seconds away from fun.

Corage El Perro Cobarde took his big panga out and he was ripping it up as always.  Check him out with a sweet vertical move on this one.

There were some nice sized set waves coming in at the bay this afternoon.  Here we caught this one with no takers!

Check out how nasty the ocean was.  That's all for today folks, please check back tomorrow.
