Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, September 30, 2010

Pancho here again, from the other side of the world.  I know you guys want to see some surf pics from over here but it's pretty much flat, so I haven't been taking any.  We have been surfing though and I was able to poach a photo of myself from one of my new Aussie friends, who cut his foot and was relegated to the boat for the afternoon.  Anyway, it's waist to chest high, but still super fun.  We had this little right all to ourselves for about 5 hours.  It could be bigger but it won't get any prettier.

Here's a bad line-up shot of the same wave from my little HeroHD camera.  The video came out pretty cool but the frame shots are a little fuzzy.  This looks fun, but waves like this only came in about once every 15 minutes or so - in two or three wave sets.  There was a lot of waiting...and cooking in the hot sun.

This is where I'm staying this week - It's called Resort Latitude Zero.  It amazing to me how they can build something this nice, so far away from reality.  It makes it all that much better.  These guys do it right - great service, gourmet food, fast boats, etc.  I'm stoked to be here.

This is the beach out in front of the resort.  That's our speedboat in the back with twin 150's on it.  We've got a few more days until the next swell so I'll get some good surf pictures then.  We've also got Mr. Brown coming in on Sunday...should be a tube-riding clinic next week so stay tuned.  I'm off to go fishing for some big tuna!

It was still raining a lot last night and this morning but the day cleared up in the afternoon, making our photo session a little easier.  It was running about waist to chest high on sets with pretty strong onshore, but we have to say that the winds are lighter than the last few days.  Check it out!!!

As we said before the day cleared up in the afternoon, so all the locals try to get some work done.  The fishing should be good if the rain stops, maybe we'll be able to catch some Mahi-Mahi!

The surf was pretty fun today but we are going to throw a couple life shots in today.  Check out this little kid going big with a cool off the top.

The winds were blowing strong last night and the Nicaraguan Sinking Report has to follow, sadly.  Hopefully the winds are supposed to die down and that will stop this kinda things!

It’s nice to see that this police are walking around to the beach doing the best work to maintain the order on the beach and the town.  Good job policiita!

Here we have our very good friend Ben walking with his great family and his best friend Armando “El Codo “around to the town.  They are looking super happy having a good time together.

When we arrived to the beach we find only 4 or 6 surfers in the water including a few locals.  Here we have Pedro “El Cacaste” Flores, he was taking advantage and catching a lot of waves.  Look at him destroying the lip of this little nugget.

Unfortunately the winds are still onshore, so we decided to take some different shots around to the beach.  Here we caught this guys working very hard to maintain very clean all beaches.

After two month ago, Finality we have again our very good friend D-lite with us.  He back very desperate because he misses a lot his beautiful girlfriend.  Welcome to Nicaragua my friend!  Aright folks this is all for today.  Please check back with us tomorrow!
