The crowd was light and scattered across the entire lineup. So there were plenty of empty waves rolling through.

The rights were shorter, but hollower. I saw a few make-able tubitos.

This guy was sitting furthest to South and had a sandbar peak all to himself.

Maybe he could've tucked into a tubito here? Hard to say haha. If only it was a little bit bigger, but had similar shape.

Kevin Gonzalez was on the right board for the middle-peak. It was soft so his longboard came in handy.

The middle-peak was fatter and slower than the sandbars, so a casual pace worked well.

Oho! A little cheater five action from Kevin. Perfect day to work on some cross-stepping and nose-riding.

The lefts were longer, but had even less slope. Still manageable on longer gear though.

French Fries (pictured here) also had some waves, but it wasn't super consistent. It was cool to see a variety of different peaks working and how clean the surf was when I was there. By the time I packed up my gear it had already turned slightly side-shore though. One thing still surprises me is how drastically the wind can change here during dry-season. The websites are somewhat reliable with the wind, but they aren't always accurate with pinpointing exactly when it will be strongest and weakest during the day. You've just got to monitor it throughout the day and hit the windows that repeatedly have the best wind.

I wouldn't be sad if this was the strongest that the wind got this time of the year. Unfortunately it looks like some crazy strong offshores are coming on Tuesday and could stick around for a week or so. If the forecast is correct then it will be the strongest winds we've seen this entire dry season. Time to bolt everything down and buckle up! Tomorrow the wind should still be reasonable though. Hasta manana.

Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday afternoon’s surf report from French Fries. It was pretty small today, but the wind wasn’t as strong as forecasted. The wind was blowing somewhat side-shore from the East though.

PANGA DROPS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Panga Drops and French Fries. It was very windy today, but the Rancho surf team paddled out right after a small rain squall and scored a good window.
