Today we had the Chompipe Surf Contest, a tradition here at Panga Drops for Thanksgiving day.
Even though the waves were smaller than everyone wanted, all the competitors did a great job during the competition.
These kids were killing it without caring about the conditions.
With these soft, small conditions of Panga, we saw many powerful cutbacks throughout the contest.
And not just cutbacks of course, specially on that famous inside section.
Some fancy maneuvers were shown once in a while that surprised everyone, specially the judges.
Between beers and laughs, the judges were having a great time… can you tell?Big round of applause to Dan Springfield for organizing and taking care of every detail for this contest. Dan The Man!
The mayority of the local kids know this wave so well that they thred every corner it.
Playing the psychological game by doing a great turn right in front of your opponent.
There were 5 surfers on every heat, the top 2 moved on to the next round.
While everyone were at Panga Drops for the Contest, Colorado was like a playground… so many kids running, bouncing and playing on the beach and in the water!
There were so many kids surfing and playing on the waves, sharing rides, longboards and laughs between each other.
Check out our friend Trip on a nice right… he was struggling with tiny board but he was able to catch a few.
Hargett was also in need of a bigger board but because he’s lighter that his older brother Trip, he caught many more waves.
Big Thanks to everyone that checks our surf report and special thanks to everyone that have come to Nicaragua because of our dedication and love to this amazing country and its unique surf conditions.Happy Thankgiving everyone!
