The first shot we got Dan “Boy George” Cooley taking off on a good looking left. Dan has been really enjoying his stay in Nicaragua so far. He said his favorite part is eating gallo pinto in the market.
We picked up Rex “La Bestia” Calderon on the way to the beach this morning because we wanted to see some real surfing. He didn’t disappoint, here he is with a nice speed floater.
Here is “Black English” taking off on one of the best set waves of the day. He was getting some good waves and ripping them apart really hard.
Here is Steven “El Pegador de Conejos” giving us some pepper with a solid backside hack. He said it’s been great getting on some surf with power.
This is Ray “Sonrisa de Payaso” showing us his battle scar. He said it was a shark that jumped out of the water at him, but I am not sure I believe it.
A few surfers paddled down to Machete point to escape the crowd. It wasn’t the powerful wave today, but it looked fun to surf basically alone.
The last shot of the day we have Juanito “El Mosque” de la Perra with a killer dance move. He said this is why all the ladies think he is so cute. The swell looks like its going to be the same tomorrow so check back!
The NSR surf school also did a few lessons today. These guys were super stoked on their lessons yesterday that they signed up for classes again today. We took them out to the beach and they improved their surfing skills some more.
These were some of the most impressive students we have encountered. Here is Sky taking off on a wave that looks almost head high.
Her brother Chance was getting some good waves as well. Here is cutting the line on only his second day of surfing!
Here is a family surfing shot. The kids did so well in the water their father wanted to get out there and try it out. They all had a really fun time whether they did surf lessons or they just surfed on a NSR rental board.
This is the next group off surfers that wanted to do the NSR surf school to learn with the best. Here is Oliver teaching them proper form for their surf stance.
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. This lady either ended up a bit later than anticipated or misunderstood what it means to get barreled haha! I’ve got to give her credit for looking at this wave though. You don’t know if you don’t go (or at least look at going).
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Hi and welcome to the last surf report of the month, we have a new swell in the water and a lot of people too. It’s head high to overhead on sets and still building, the wind is offshore and everybody is enjoying in Nicaragua. Check out the lineup.
From Rio Nexpa, Mx – we blazed a trail from Pascuales yesterday afternoon and made it to Nexpa. If you’ve never done that drive, I recommend it. Think the 1 in CA, except that it’s a lush tropical setting with palm trees, cliffs plunging hundreds of feet into warm, blue water and white sand beach..
