The conditions were perfect for small barrels, not too fast so a lot of people made it out of them without any problems.
The main problem was the crowd, sorry, I should say the crowd’s attitude… I saw too many people dropping in on others which creates a not-so-fun environment in the water.
I mean, in general everyone was apologetic about it but definitely the mood starts to change after a couple of times, right?
The mood changes even faster when the person that dropped in on you wipe out on the drop, right where you were planning to be in the barrel.
I’m going to blame it on the Covid virus and the more-than-a-year quarantine that kept most of the surfers around the world away from surfing, everybody is so eager to surf that they forget their manners in the water and need to remember there are some surf ethics for the better good.
And talking about the better good… please helpTola International School, the only Bilingual School in the area, with so far 25 kids from 2 to 9 years old, raise some money so they can buy land where they can build a proper school for the future. Who knows, maybe one day your kids could be part of the school while you are surfing and living in Nicaragua!Click Here if you want to Donate!
And talking about kids… there are so many groms ripping all over the place! Looks like a whole school from Maui picked Colorado for their annual field trip!
I’ve never been to Hawaii but seen the way these kids surfs gives me a pretty good idea of how intense life around the ocean is there!
Did I mention the Girl Power show that has been going on for the last couple of weeks? I’ve never seen so many women of all ages surfing and ripping at Colorado.
It’s refreshing to see the elegant flow that women have in the waves, such a smooth style.
Smooth style with powerful moments on the lip.
We are so use to see powerful, rough around the edges turns from all the men in the water… women brings a good balance.
It doesn’t matter the crowd or who you are surfing with… once you found an empty wave with your name on it (and nobody steal it from you) the world around you becomes a better place, and you want it or not, that experience irradiates into others. Everybody should share and be happy, after all, that’s what the waves are for, right?
Take a look at Dario irradiating some energy into this PQSD (Post-Quarantine Stress Disorder) surfer.
I hope you enjoyed today’s report… the waves are super fun, let’s keep the surfing that way too. Cheers!

FROM THE ARCHIVES
Welcome to the Tuesday surf report. Today that new swell came in, but it was a bit weird and wild out there with some big walled up sets and some really gray moody weather without much sun. But I was lucky to find some surfers out in the afternoon. Come check it out!
