Hey everyone! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. We received some rain and onshore wind overnight, but the waves were surprisingly playful during the late morning window.

The waves had just enough punch, the tide was just right, and the wind was light enough to offer up multiple sections. It was a perfect day to work on linking together combos.

You’ll see nice “copings” offered up for maneuvers during today’s report. A really light onshore texture creates the most desirable degree of coping without messing up the overall line or wall of the swell line as it “feels” the sandbar.

The surfers in the water knew the program today. They did an excellent job of capitalizing on the ramps for sharper turns as opposed to executing drawn out carves and cutbacks.

When the waves are a bit smaller and you find yourself on a softer wave with less of a wall, then staying in the pocket is the key to getting full value from the ride.

That wraps up today’s surf action. The vegetation loved the steady rain from last night and the increase in humidity. Green jungle vibes are here until closer to Thanksgiving when things will start to dry out again. Tomorrow’s forecast looks near identical to today’s, so hopefully the motivated shredders from today’s report are out again tomorrow making the most of the given conditions.
